Systematics and evolution of Baccharis subgen. Tarchonanthoides Heering (Asteraceae), a group from southeastern South American grasslands

Gustavo Heiden

I am developing my Ph. D. thesis entitled “Systematics and evolution of Baccharis subgen. Tarchonanthoides Heering (Asteraceae), a group from southeastern South American grasslands” in the Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil. The IAPT Research Grant Program in Plant Systematics 2010 helped me to study the collections of Baccharis L. (Asteraceae) in some Argentinean (BAA, BAB, CORD, CTES, LIL, LP, SI) and Uruguayan (MVFA, MVJB, MVM, MVFQ) herbaria, as well as to perform a fieldwork to get samples of Baccharis artemisioides Hook. & Arn., the only species of the subgenus Tarchonanthoides not occurring in Brazil.
